A flash in time, a moment of reprise
The whistle blows, the horn sounds
Slow and steady, over we go
No pick up the pace, down we fall
Dead end streets and blighted trees
A candle burning in the window
Snuffed like a cigar on a cool evening
A photograph cast into a spring
The magpie sings a lovely tune
A siren wails and the angels screech
They fall and paint the canvas
The baby rattle shakes
Small hands reach for the snake
I dream of egg and bologna on rye
Onwards to the beat of the drum
The coo of the flute hums
We are the nameless who march to the void
The screaming fury that churns
Into the slaughter
Forgotten.
A brush stroked across the clouds
Leaving behind a vibrant hue of oranges, reds, yellows, blues, pinks, and violets
The clouds concealed the saucy moment
As the Sun stood and kissed the Sky
Like the shadow of holding hands in the morning Sun
She turned to him with soaring eyes and thrusting heart,
“Charles, what do you see in the sunset?”
He gazed at the golden hues with a rough squint
Eyes seeing something that wasn’t quite there
“The Sun does not set
It is rising, standing tall
Being born anew like a broken heart after a hangover
She sprinkles her sheen and showers crops in her embrace
Poor men who work the land squ

The universe was carved from emptiness
from the great abyss came galaxies, planets, suns
life
all in one big boom
Thoughts;
created from nothingness
born from void
Deep inside of me there is no thing
a blackness ever consuming
a stain that can't be scrubbed away
oblivion
This omnipresent feeling, I embrace.
The world around us
All born from void.
All is void.
I am the paradigm
I am no thing
I am nothing
I am the void which surrounds me
and from that void
all is born
bathed in light.

Floating in Space
Sometimes I feel like writing an epic novel
or pouring gasoline on myself and lighting a match.
I want to do the best I can at whatever I do
or just hang by my neck from a tree.
I wish I could go scuba diving with sharks
and 'accidently' pack my pants with chum.
I want to heal the world and make it a better place
but sometimes I want to turn it to ashes and kill everyone.
Sometimes I think of spectacular things that could change the world
or sometimes I mutter, "I'm going to kill 6 people".
I want to die and be remembered for something great
or just choke alone in my room on a tub of Nutella.
I wish I could go out and be happy
and not kick m
my head doesn't swim; it sinks like a dead fish,
especially when i read that message that you sent.
when my heart hurts and my arms bleed,
i look to you like an addict looks to their dealer.
you're my precious pain killer
and i just swallowed a whole bottle.
now our curtains are closing.
the glass is breaking with a shatter.
my clothes are a tatter,
after i hit the pavement with a violent splatter.
you're a bull shark and i'm your remora
stuck to your belly, salt smears my mascara.
yet still i cling to my wayward hopes,
photoshopping out those words you spoke.
as i try to delete my heart's history,
but my abort button isn't working.

Sweet little flower bathing in delight
Brimming with the formula of life
I watched as your petals fell down
Day by day I watched you lose your crown
Each day I watched as you lost your sight
A war raged and you lost the fight
A war raged between your inner might
Laughter is now but a deaf sound
Sweet little flower bathing in delight
Your stalk became thin from drought
Your beautiful petals fled in fright
Dressed in a withered wedding gown
Your make-up is a weeping frown
Little flower gone on a silent night
